another one of my regular reads

jorn barger, the guy who writes it, is a wee bit elitist (my assessment),
but definitely accessible -- in the sense that he puts all he's got out
there for people to see, not that his pages are "accessible" in the web
design sense

he has strong opinions, and plenty of them

e.g.

How many web-design mistakes can you spot on this page?
   (random XML.com
            ==> http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/faqs/xml_faq_htmlxml)
   1) Written in purely unreadable jargon. .
   2) Body-text squeezed into quarter-width column. .
   3) Breadcrumb-navigation incomprehensible. .
   4) Breadcrumb-navigation broken! .
   5) No other up/next/closely-related links offered.
   6) With stylesheets off, blue links unreadable .
            against blue navbar. .
   7) 'Resource Centers' menu undescriptive, .
            generally useless. ('Web'???) .
   8) 'Essentials' menu bizarrely inessential. .
   9) 'Site Help' is a mailto!?! (heeeeelp!) .
...and we're supposed to take XHTML seriously???

the occasional rants like this notwithstanding, most of the time he plucks
really interesting stuff out of the webosphere, and the result is the
robotwisdom weblog

also of interest to evolt might be his link to hwg --

  HTML-Writers-Guild hasn't updated their
           style-guides-index since 1999 (hwg.org)
(They claim 147k members at $49/yr = $7M/year... for this?)
