I forgot to mention it's a 'business' trip; he's a fantasy artist and is going
to a wargames convention at the expense of one of his clients. He won't be
earning any money while over there (the flight and board is his 'payment'), but
will be expected to stand behind an exhibition stand and sign autographs, etc.
He won't get any time to sight-see, so I don't really think he counts as a
tourist.

Make any difference to his status/paperwork?
