Kinda, in that you see it at every race track you go to.

It's the fire proof fabric they make racing suits, fireman's turn out
gear, etc. out of. It doesn't catch on fire - it just doesn't.
It will protect you in a burning car for a few seconds, which is
(hopefully) all you need to punch the button on your belts, drop to
the ceiling (see, you're upside down....) and scramble out the window.

So, it's protection from flames.
