Interesting, never thought of that...

Which would work... except that the research shows that usually rape is
primarily a power thing, not a sex thing.

Take the case that we're talking about - that rape was very clearly an
exercise of power.

While that punishment may prevent an exact repeat of the crime, it isn't a
deterrent.
