Hi Madhu,
Urdu and Hindi share the word "dakoo".

I have realized that your English is far better than mine. I couldn't
find any appropriate word to describe "dakoo" except "dacoits". In
future, I'll use "bandit"; I find this word better to describe a
"dakoo".

dacoits = local slang for "bandit"

Like English has picked up words from Hindi, it too has made English
words
out of local expressions.

Comes from "dakoo" which means bandit.
