That does depend on how you use time-outs. If you use them as a punishment,
I think you're right. But they needn't be that way. Time-outs can be more
along the lines of "Not the usual level of positive reinforcement", and
brief too.

As for corporal punishment, I don't think there's any justification. All
it teaches the child is "Violence pays" and "Might is right". Neither of
which are lessons I want Morgan to learn.
