I reckon that the noun usage of "film noir" is as a
collective noun; film noir is a genre. If we talk
about
Star Trek and Star Wars are we talking about sciences
fiction or science fictions or science fiction films?

Correct:

'Kubrick's "The Killing" is an example of film
noir.'

Incorrect:

'Kubrick's "The Killing" is a film noir.'

Ayep, that's what I'm a-thinking. Also trying to
decide
what I'm going to go see this weekend:

  Bourne Identity
  Sum of All Fears
  K-19
  Reign of Fire
  Mr. Deeds
  Stuart Little 2

Anybody seen any of these and care to comment? I've
already seen Minority Report (dang good) and MIIB
(okay).

Terry
