anyhow, i are among them who warn about going getting chilled

if you change "catch a cold" to "succumb to a cold" it is true

cold germs are on you and in you all the time, but are held in check by your
body's defenses

when your body is chilled, the biological balance is shifted, and part of
your defenses are switched away from intruder neutralization

as well, the lower temperature improves the propagation of some cold bugs

one of your body's primary reactions to germ invasion is fever, raising the
body temperature enough, even if only a degree or two, to kill or at least
impair propagation

you'd know all this if you had been paying attention during Fantastic Voyage
