[thechat] moving to the USA

You know... just to riff off it a bit... one of the mothers of
another American Indian child (Klamath Tribe, from the opposite end
of the river) told me that Bush Sr. contributes money to an
organization which was/is responsible for the unauthorized
sterilization of Native women by Indian Health Services.

I have no way of verifying this fact. But I do know:

- United Indian Health Services *did* in fact perform involuntary
sterilizations on Native women, especially in the 1960's and 1970's.

It has been documented. Whether this effort is completely over, I
don't know. Whether George Sr was/is involved, I don't know. This
woman is pretty smart and active in Indigenous causes. She might
know what she's talking about.

In any case, it is clear to me that both Bush's support corporations
and industry at the expense of human life. Bush Sr CIA's involvement
with Pinochet has already been mentioned. Are the Bushes incapable
of genocidal efforts? I think they are quite capable of it. Greed
for gold spurred genocidal acts in Northern California. Why should
greed for oil be any different?

Are Americans capable of seeing it or of stopping it? I don't know.
2004 seems so far away.
