A charity I work for has sent me the following plea for help, which I can't
because I know nothing about Macs. Can anyone assist?

We have a Macintosh G4 hard drive that has failed, it just makes a whirring
noise and won't appear on the desktop. The details of the drive are: IBM
Deskstar: DTLA-307030. 30Gb IDE.

We only have a few MAC's so our level of technical  expertise in this area,
certainly in respect of recovering data, is limited. If there is any way to
retrieve information off of the hard drive, we'd be very grateful.
