I remember the spassky rematch (in yugoslavia?)...with a very ill
spassky...

while fischer was a genius no doubt, he was highly over-publicised with all
the cold
war hype.  Somebody like mikhail tal was a true genius - i remember reading
a book
about him, which had an "algebraic" commentary on his games, unbelievable
stuff!
Not to mention he maintained a top 10 elo ranking for over 35 years (even
when
he was really sick)....
