Jeff Smith's "The Frugal Gourmet" was the first cookery show I ever watched
on TV as a kid. Learnt a lot from him, including how to make paella. One of
his cooking principle still rings in my mind: "hot pan, cold oil, food
won't stick". I continue to preach it to this day.
