It was said here that fireflies are native of America... (I'm not sure if that meant north america or
the large Americas altogether...) I've seen fireflies in South america as well, and I'm not sure if
they are exclusive to the american continent, insects are usually very widely distributed - I've also
seen tv shows about several different kinds of fireflies...
