okay, sabrina, you did bring it up

it is perfectly okay to put the person's name into the body

but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not put the person's email into the body

if you are modifying a copy of the original message in composing a reply,
and your mailer has kindly inserted the message headers into the body, then
it is incumbent upon you to edit the email address out

or spoof it, as aardvark now does with mine

if you leave the email in the message body, it will be sucked out of the
public list archives by spambots

this may not always be apparent to well-meaning folks, and therefore
requires occasional reminders

as you did, so do i

and once you are aware of this situation, to continue to leave email
addresses of the people you are replying to in the body of the message
exhibits either a callous disregard for their privacy or a fundamental lack
of understanding of the difference between a message header sent to
subscribers only and a message body that is visible on a public archive

thank you

love and kisses

rudy
