Ah, you're making me hungry. ;-)

I love garlic, so I tend to use lots of it and as often as possible. If you
like garlic, you may like this. If not, just delete this.

I like to make up a mixture of garlic, wine, soy sauce, and whatever
seasonings look good in the spice cabinet at the time.

I'm totally guessing on the amounts as I've never written this down
before... it's been a standard that I've made for years for grilling steaks
on the BBQ. It's an original recipe that I made up many years ago and have
continually improvised over the years.

First I use fresh garlic and run the cloves through a garlic press... how
much depends on how many steaks and my mood at time. ;-) For 3 or 4 steaks
I run at least 2 or more good-sized cloves of garlic through the garlic
press and mix that with a couple of tablespoons or so of soy sauce, add 1/4
cup or more of wine, add some other seasonings, and mix well. It ends up
being about enough to be about 3/16" deep in a shallow dish, which I
explain below for the steaks.

I put the steaks into a shallow 9"x12" shallow dish (Pyrex works great) and
pierce each steak with a fork a few times. I then pour my mixture over the
steaks. I turn the steaks a few times in the shallow dish and brush the
mixture over them while I heat up the BBQ.

Once the BBQ is heated up, I put the steaks on. While the steaks cook on
the BBQ I use a cooking brush to brush on more mixture from the shallow
dish. I typically take the steaks off when they're medium rare. They're
full-flavored, tender, and juicy.

I've gotten rave comments from friends and family over the years about
this. So if you like garlic, you may like something like this. Improvise at
will... I always do. ;-)

Warmly,
Shirley
