Hugh, you have raised a very good point although you have used word of somebody
else.
When you talk about Muslims then you must realize that they are also Humans.
Being Muslims they don't become heavenly spirits on earth. They have their basic
needs, they have their cultural backgrounds and they have their own personal
natures. Today's tragedy is that Muslims do not study and understand Islam.
Talibaan and Al-Qaeda are examples of "Muslims" who are famous for rage and
anger. They are the Afghan Mujahideen of Soviet-Afghan war. They were the
sweethearts of USA. After Soviet collapse, their material support was stopped.
They declined economically. Then they decided to use the shelter of religion to
express their economic rage. Their Pakistani supporters oppose democracy in
Pakistan just because they want to get power with undemocratic means. Democracy
(which is a part of Islam) is not going to bring them in power.
If you find any Muslims uneasy, insecure or angry then it may have any or all of
following three causes:
1. Lack of Study of Islam
2. Decline of Economy
3. Powerlessness.
