well to be fair to the movie, it wasn't really about Rome and Gladiators, so
researching the whole thumbs up/down thing wasn't *that* important ...

Oh, you meant "Gladiator" (2000) http://uk.imdb.com/Details?0172495 and not
"The Gladiator" (1938) http://uk.imdb.com/Details?0030186 which is a movie
about a college professor who drinks a serum and turns into a superhero ...
