LOL.  The mirth isn't at the expense of users.  I'm not an expert on this
topic, but the whole fun of HURD is that it doesn't exist.  Its the
vaporware replacement for Linux that the GNU people claim as the holy grail
and yet never actually complete.

Hrm, I just went to http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/hurd.html which says
that it does exist.  I haven't heard any clamoring on the web yet though,
which suggests that perhaps it still is not useable.  

This is tangential to the gnu/linux vs linux debates.
