Can someone teach me how to play good chess? :D

I know the rules, but haven't played more than maybe 10 games in my life. 
(Though my self-devised bot beat the Chess Grandmaster bot in Chessmaster 
3000.)

Funny; I figured I should be naturally good at something like chess, but 
I'm not.
