Hi Madhu,
(sez Ron freshly back from Chi-town)
Speaking of yawns ... [more guitar stuff coming ahead ... can ya tell?]
I was meandering through the Chicago museum of Science and Technology
Tuesday night ... with my 3rd or 4th glass of Chardonnay in hand ...
{I like museums ... I really do ... but I must say ... sauntering around
the exhibits with a glass of wine in hand ... being able to 'toast' Craig
Breedlove's "Spirit of America" [1] (which was on exhibit) ... was a
really fun treat! I enjoyed it a lot!)
Anyway ... they currently have a special exhibit on "Sweet Home Chicago -
Big City Blues: 1946 - 1966" that I spent most of my time in. [Yeah, I
spent sooooo much time in there the staff sent a janitor to follow around
behind me moping up the drool.] They had one of Magic Sam's guitars on
exhibit. One of Howlin Wolf's harmonicas. {Ya there Nagrom? They had
*several* heavily used Kay's from old blues legends!}
... and they had a "Brownie"! ... One of Eric Clapton's 1956 tobacco burst
Strats ... strained fretboard and all! ... very very nice!
;-)
RonL.
(Oh yeah, to borrow from Margaret Mead's famous comment about Samoans:
"Man, those kangaroos can be a surly bunch!")
[1] It's a LSR 'fast car' thing. "Spirit of America", "Green Monster",
"Blue Flame", etc.
