Martin Burns reminded one and all of the wonderful music of SAHB:

>>* School's Out (one for Young Ones' fans there)

OMG WTF LOL! ... Another SAHB fan? ;-)

I don't remember him doing "Runaway". (I'll have to check that out!)
But I do remember his version of 'To Dream' "The Impossible Dream".

(Shoot! All my SAHB tunes are on vinyl ... Oh man, I may have to run
out at lunch today and pick up some CDs. Haven't heard "Vambo" or
"Man in the Jar" in years!)

Here's a link to a list of odd titles someone has put together. Normally
lists like this contain a bunch of 'unknown' songs no one has ever heard
and/or some made up titles. I don't know if all of these are real, but
I have heard at least half a dozen of these on the radio. In fact, some,
like #9 "Bubba Shot The Jukebox", were big hits. (A wonderful Mark
Chesnutt tune - captures that 'Bubba' mentality extremely well.)

Dunno if you're familar with David Allan Coe's "You Don't Even Call
Me By My Name" ... (probably bka [You don't have to call me darlin',
darlin']) but it's often mentioned (usually, I think, by Mr. Coe) as
'the ultimate country music song' since it covers everything; drinkin',
trains, pickups, momma, prison, rain, ... :
http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/pages/tiDARLDARL.html

"Well, I was drunk the day my Mom ... got ... outta prison.
And I went to pick her up ... iiiiiiiiin the rain.
But, before I could get to the station ... in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned old traiiiiiiin."

It still gets radio play ... and it's available on all of Coe's
greatest hits albums [Why does he have so many ... especially
when it's pretty much the same songs on each one? I don't know.]

>>Sold.

;-)

I think you'll like that! I bought it as an 'import' CD when it
came out.

Who will now probably spend the rest of the day misremembering the
lyrics from his favorite SAHB tune ... "Anthem":

<verse 2>

"Sel-lin' stories to the pea-tox
Sellin' ... SYSTEMATIC HALLEEN!
Just ... a counterfeit ... engravin'
of the way You Used To Been!
Just ... another ... one way num-ber
Another two way so-ong
For though it's True I'm worried Now
I won't be worried loooong"

(Yeah, so the web disagrees with me ...
I'll agree that its "Although it's true ..." in the 1st verse,
but I still think it's "For though it's true ..." in the 2nd ...
La Vie!)
