heh, i jest started rehearsin' for a woody guthrie theater thang....all the
text is woody's writings, and all the songs are of course woody stuff (done
legally, with permissions of course)

so i been listenin' to heapins' of ol' woody's stuff, (allright, i'll resume
to normal 'american english')

but many of woody's songs are straight lifts of other people's stuff. "new
york town" is the same as blind lemon jefferson's "one dime blues" (for
example). and cisco houston probably had a hand in writing "this land". i
dare say woody wouldn't approve of the lawsuit, he'd think the bit was
funny.

oh well, he's probably busy "decomposing" anyway.
