[thechat] Online Travel Stuff

Hey gang --

I've started blogging for Weblogs, Inc. (autoblog, bloggingbaby, engadget,
hack-a-day, etc) on a new travel blog at http://www.gadling.com which
launched on Wednesday. It focuses on "engaged" travel, which basically means
active or activist travel: hiking, biking, skydiving, scuba,kyaking,
climbing (all REI-tastic sports), plus some of the politics of travel.

And I'm looking for fodder! Please let me know if you have any of the
following online:

* Travel Blogs and trip entries: where you went, what you saw. 
* Photo Galleries: images from trips.

(Please remember that this isn't family days out, though)

I'm also interested in:

* Cool stuff: travel books, travel gadgets, websites, seat booking systems.

* Suggestions and tips for travel, specific activites in places, cultural
tourism, eco-tourism.

The site will show you the kind of stuff we're covering. So far, I've
blogged a skydiving centre, some camping gear, a thing on why you should not
travel to burma, a guide to sleeping in airports, urban golf, a thing on
roman ruins in the UK, yurts, some festivals, etc. Oh, and some of you will

I'm not very adventure-travel oriented, so this is a bit of a struggle for
me at the moment, and I'd appreciate any links or suggestions you guys have,
either your own stuff or just things you like. I'll be queuing them up for
release over the next few weeks.
