Scanning the db of plots I have, the cheapest plot - ie land with or  
likely to get planning permission - in Lothian (don't have access to  
info for over your way) is £65k, for 607 sq m. There's another at  
£70k, then you're jumping to £130k and going up rapidly.

As Mark Twain said, buy land - they ain't making it any more.
