send out as many emails and voicemails (time-stamped) as 
possible so *everyone* knows you came in and tried to work... play 
UT for the rest of the day, scattering emails and phone calls 
throughout, then go home, relishing your new-found reputation for 
being a hard-worker under the worst of conditions...

and then use that as the martyr point when asking for a week off...
