Happy Spring/Fall everyone :)

Lots of good news about your members.evolt.org accounts!

First, the Chili!ASP software that we got donated to us by Sun last
month seems to be working well, and there's been a pretty wide
acceptance of it. Thanks to all of you who contacted Sun to send your
thanks for their generous donation.

I've added a number of new resources to the members.evolt.org site in
the last month as well that you may or may not be aware of.

A general 'Help' page is now available at http://members.evolt.org/help/
- it contains information about the server, documentation, and examples
for setting up MySQL connections in various languages. Although it's far
from complete, I hope it's of use to you, and if you have any
suggestions about things that should go on that page, I'd love to hear them.

Also, a general 'Contact' form has been set up at
http://members.evolt.org/contact/ which should be used to send
questions, requests, whatever to me or one of the other people that help
run the service.

About half of you use m.e.o for email services(alright!), and I've got
some good news on that front as well.. I'm happy to present a web based
interface, ala Hotmail/Yahoo mail, for you to manage your
members.evolt.org email account. The POP3 service will still be
available for those of you who prefer that method, but this is a nice
alternative for those of you who can't use your ISP's outgoing SMTP
server to send email coming from your members.evolt.org account. This is
doubly nice with the recent news of the free mail providers like Hotmail
and Yahoo starting to charge for services, and provides a place where
you don't get spam the minute you sign up. Your regular
username/password will log you in to the webmail, which is at
http://members.evolt.org/email/ - There are still a couple quirks I'm
working out with the formatting, but everything is *very* configurable,
and works really well(especially filtering and SPAM reporting). Let me
know if you run into problems or have comments. Have fun and Enjoy!

I've also set up a general contribution page at
http://members.evolt.org/contribute/ for those of you who are hopefully
thinking of contributing, monetarily or otherwise, back to evolt.org. We
are creeping up towards 100GB/month of data transfer, which as some of
you know isn't cheap. I'm not going to go into The Pitch to get you to
contribute in this email, but please read that page, and seriously think
about what you're getting from evolt.org and members.evolt.org
specifically. It's truly appreciated. :)

On the weblogging front, we've now got the pieces in place for you to
start using Moveable Type 2.0 if thats your bag.(thanks to dmah) If
you'd like to run something, and we don't currently support it, just
drop me a line and we can look into getting it installed for you.

Lastly, all of the links above can be found on every official
members.evolt.org page in the right hand sidebar, and is the best place
to watch for new features before they're 'officially' announced.

As always, I love to hear your comments and suggestions about
members.evolt.org, fine india pale ales, or new services you'd like to
see. Whatever it may be, always feel free to drop me a line :)
