Who has suggested that we will charge members to participate in the social
mailing list?

I'm really not sure where you're reading this from.

They're not buying hosting. They can get better hosting elsewhere. No one is
disagreeing with that.

It is more a reward for volunteers/donators than it is charging them to gain
that service.


We're building an environment for those people that support evolt.org with
continued involvement, whether by effort/content/donation, that identifies
them as strongly passionate about evolt.org.

I see that as the primary aim of the project -- something of an incentive to
donate.

At the moment, they get no star/cube/icon next to their username, no
product, no vanity email, or anything else that other communities have long
provided.
