Yeah, that doesn't really parse well:

"Members support each other...  through buying evolt-gear and donations"

Nope - you need to either put a qualifier in there before those two  
items,
"and help sustain the community by buying evolt-gear and donations"
or phrase it as
"Members contribute to the community via..."
