But this won't be on white. :) It will be on whatever color ".main" is set
to in the default stylesheet or a custom stylesheet.

So, color readability isn't something to worry too much about, because
eventually it's going to be a little beyond our control

I do see where you're going, and we could fill the light face of each cube
last, within the context of filling each cube completely before starting on
the next one. We don't want two partial cubes filled in. So the order would
go:

1) wireframe
2) red - left
3) red - top
4) red - right
5) green - top
6) green - right
7) green - left
8) blue - left
9) blue - right
10) blue - top

I think that's a little wonky, and I don't really think it addresses your
issue, Matt. I think I'm leaning more toward a consistant pattern for
filling each cube, whether it's left, top, right or something else
