: what are the advantages other than having
: logins on the browser archive site though
: i guess is what i'm asking. That is, does
: the functionality we'd get out of doing
: this outwiegh the fucking pain in the ass
: it would be to implement it?
:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
here are some of the advantages that i can think of:
1) sessions are carried between the sites
2) maintaining the layout of thesite and
the browser archive would be much
easier because they'd be using the same
templates for everything but the actual
content area.
3) search engines could index the entire
archive making it more visible to the
rest of the internet.
i'd be happy to be involved in actually making the necessary cf changes to
make this happen. all i'd need you to do is move the contents of
public_html to a browsers folder under main_html and point the sub-domain at
main_html instead of public_html. i can take care of the rest of it no
problemo. to tell you the truth i don't think it'll take more than 30
minutes total to get it working.
thanks,
