Taken from my maths books from last year.

standard deviation = the square root of (the sum of((x -
mean of all x values)squared)divided by(the amount of
values of x - 1))

which looks more or less like this, 
         ____________________________
        /  sum (x - mean of x values)²
       /   --------------------------
     \/              n - 1

So, if you don't have any ready built functions, there's
your maths.
