[thelist] IE 5.5 & CSS

Dear List.
              Apologies if this has been mentioned recently but I have only
lightly dabbled in style sheets & most of what has been on the List lately
has been over my head. My problem is this: I downloaded the new IE update
the other week & it's done something weird to my style sheets. This is what
it looks like...

#heading1{font size: 24pt; font-family: arial; font-variant: small-caps}
 #text1{font size: 12pt; font-family: arial; font weight: bold;
font-variant: small-caps}
 #text2{font size: 8pt; font-family: arial; font-variant: small-caps}
 #text3{font size: 10pt; font-family: arial; font weight: bold;
font-variant: small-caps}
 #text4{font size: 12pt; font-family: arial}

Now this used to work fine, but now it all works except the 1st line

#heading1{font size: 24pt; font-family: arial; font-variant: small-caps}

Anyone have any ideas why this should be?
