Well, I discovered the culprit after I re-initialized the hard drive and
started reinstalling stuff. You'd never guess, it was Netscape Communicator
4.61. I had several browsers (of both the NC/NN and IE variety, among
others...thanks Aard.!) installed, and when I reinstalled that specific
version it made DW3 abort on launch. As soon as I removed it, no problems. I
installed everything else I'd had, and everything works smoothly. Funky
glitch...
