[thelist] setrlimit???

My sql server has been crashing off an on for a few days and I have been 
able to find the reason to a few problems.  However, there is one line in 
the .err file that I can't find anything on.  Does anyone know what this 
means and how to fix it?

Warning: setrlimit couldn't increase number of open files to more than 164

I'm running MySql 3.22.32 on Apache 1.3.11 on a FreeBSD 4.0 server.  I have 
looked through my mysql, apache and my php manuals and can't find any 
reference to it.

Any ideas?
