[thelist] Dates in Perl

Go Aussies,

oops, sorry, bit of nationalistic fervour there.

Now to the problem at hand. I have a form in which I want the user to tell
me a date. ie their birthday.
I want to use select options with the months in one list and the number of
days in the other. Years I'm not worried about (yet...unless I have to).
Can the info from those form fields be turned into a usable thing in perl?
Ideally so that when the date is reached something happens? You must be
able to do it but I don't know how. Or am I barking up the wrong tree. If
so could you point me in the right direction (in very simple terms ;-))

Any and all help gratefully appreciated.

Make sure you understand the difference between "=" and "eq" when trying to
make if statements work. When tired and you are rereading your script for
the umpteenth time it sounds the sound but certainly doesn't act it.
