one more thing:

if you do decide to do the *freebie* make sure that you set out your guidelines
and expectations in the beginning.

this will certainly keep you from doing more than you originally committed to
while giving your friend the big picture.  make sure that your friend knows your
*freebie* limits so that if necessary they can relay the information to the
*powers with money that be*.  you might save yourself the hassle of doing the
free work and get the paid work without doing anything at all.
