yeah it sounds like a vacation is in order for you. i went
through serious web burnout recently after 5 yrs of doing this stuff.
if you keep waiting for the "right time", trust me, it'll never happen.
you just have to decide to leave. otherwise, you really do get to a point
where your work suffers - you start making mistakes, get
overwhelmed and/or stressed by deadlines, etc, etc.

i recently decided from one week to the next to just take off for a two
week vacation
to an island off the coast of spain - best thing i could have done.
no phone, no tv, no computers. but had plenty internet cafes available if
i
got the craving (which was exactly twice).

another suggestion for inspiration:
strongly support the idea of looking at physical art
(museums, galleries, etc)...it is a relief for
the eyes, and it can be really incredibly creatively inspiring.
even if you have no fine art inclination - i would do anything -
start sculpting, work with your hands in real, three dimensional
instead of virtual space - paint on a canvas, your ceiling, your furniture,
build things, weld things, take a figure drawing or pottery class,
whatever. explore patterns & textures in nature & everyday world around
you.
scientific studies done recently
indicate your brain actually generates new neural pathways when you're
working with your hands as opposed to just working in front of the
computer.

hmmm i wouldn't go that far 8-)
