Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

I've also been hearing a lot about application vendors (a few in
CMS-land, some not) using it as their front end, for reasons of simplicity
of coding and platform independence.

The idea is that it is skinned for the app vendor, with some nifty custom
XUL stuff going down. If Cam's about, he might be able to tell you more.

Cam? Buehler?

     Short answer: AOL.
Long answer: If AOL puts Netscape 6 on its ubiquitous discs instead
of IE 5 -- as it almost certainly will at some point -- then almost
overnight the Netscape 6 browser will be a huge player. I have been critical
of the shortcomings of Netscape 6, and dubious about the lofty pedestal on
which some people place it, but I think your blanket dismissal of the
browser is short-sighted.
