[thelist] Changed Link Colors?

Do all browsers (oldies but goodies like 3.X and the latest) all recognize
changed link colors ("vlink", etc.)?  If not, do they default to blue?

I'd like to use a dark blue (#3C4E80) background for a page but, obviously,
blue links would be lost against it.  So I plan to change the link colors.
Will that backfire, though, and create "invisible" links on browsers that
don't recognize changed link colors?
