Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

Certainly with Apache, you can have anything you like,
simply by setting your htaccess to treat your chosen extension
as (say) HTML.

http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_mime.html#addtype
http://evolt.org/article/A_Cheesy_htaccess_Tutorial/18/226/evolt.org

Mostly this is used to make sure that .html files are server-parsed
as .shtml (I use this on my site as *every* page uses XSSI),
but you should also be able to have (say) .phear extensions
map to text/html MIME type.

Cheers
Martin
