I'm not up on details yet either, but I think the consensus reality is that
there are *multiple* technologies that web developers are using. These
customer demands drive the tool developers. Open toolchests usually beat
"not-invented-here".

More news soon... I'm still absorbing things myself. Looks like fun.

Elemental's Drumbeat was retired a year or so ago, after the Elemental
development team put together Dreamweaver UltraDev, which offers a common
front end to multiple middleware solutions (ASP, JSP, and CFML). The
macromedia.ultradev newsgroup is very active these days.
