Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

What's wrong with <a class="small2">blah blah blah</a>?

Also, using presentational tags like <i> is a bad idea - for
Accessibility reasons if no other. What are you trying to
communicate with your <i>? A citation? Emphasis? Use
<cite> or <em>. Illegible text? Go ahead and use <i>.

Cheers
Martin

Subject: RE: [thelist] css wackiness/span bad?

try <a href=""><i class="small2">text of the link</i></a>

Have read a few posts that imply that I should know that using <span>
is bad - what is the problem with it? I've had no problems with it
that I'm aware of ... I just use it for text when I can't have a line
break from a <div> ... is there a reason I may not want to do this?
