Though I haven't gone into the 'deep source', I'd recommend
www.panic.com/audion/faces.php to see what (so my bet) you couldn't see
if they hadn't used PNG: the faces previews are translucent - drag em
and watch the edges...

'course a jpg would do the job, but never as nifty as with the PNG
