Hi, Gina :o)

I would only go for the dedicated IP address if you get yout own--not one
allocated to you by your host. You can apply for one (at least in the UK,
you can) and that means it goes whereever you go--even if you change hosts.

For most customers, I don't see an advantage in this, except for SSL
hosting.

If you do get your own or use your one of your hosts for a dedicated IP,
make sure it is a Class C address.
