[thelist] design question... looking for feedback

I prefer the first logo. The second one is cool, but it looks a little too
funky. In fact, I'd probably get a little more conservative with the first
logo.

I *love* the Q; that would be really usable as an element by itself. It's
striking, memorable, and actually illustrates the product's purpose (if I've
sussed correctly that this product is intended to facilitate input from many
people or groups -- is the does "CMS" mean content management system?) But I
would probably go with something a little more mundane for the rest of the
font, because it's pulling focus from that awesome Q. Lower-case,
sans-serif, similar weight to the circle on the Q. (But again, that's just
me, and I get yelled at for being conservative with my design :))

I think the little scattering of atoms off to the right is a little
disjointed. What about one big atom (similar to your treatment on logo 2)
just a touch darker than the background? Ya know, bleed it off the top and
right edges, let it disappear behind the horizontal black bar.
