	Yes, it would be invalid because there is no "span" attribute for the
anchor element. If you changed the word "span" to either "id" or "class", it
would be perfectly legitimate.

	Not actually true -- at least according to the HTML 4.x and XHTML 1.0
recommendations. The following is legitimate markup:

	There is actually quite a bit of markup that is allowable within an anchor
element per the W3C recommendations, although I would hazard to guess that
not all legal markup will work in most browsers.
