First, thanks Matt and Daniel, you two answered my questions.  Thanks.

New question....I am trying to add a custom sound to a java game that 
already has sound.   It won't work.  Does it need to be in some special 
format or under a certain size?  I have converted the sound to AU format 
and it is 8000hz.   I have successfully imported/used another Java games' 
sound.  But, yet mine won't work.

A quick google search didn't turn up anything useful.
