Gina,
I have an image that I originally did for a print brochure a few years
back, and I've borrowed it for my home page, http://www.admataz.com/ -
wait till all the segments load... (sorry N6 users, still haven't got
round to fixing it for the W3 DOM) I've used the same image with
different backgrounds etc. with success.  I'll have a look through my
archives for the original PSD in layers, and post that on my site when
I find it...

If you're wanting to continue yourself, try tearing larger segments of
paper to make the hole - it looks more realistic that way. It was a
long time ago that I did it, so I can't remember everything I did  -
but I remember it was very labour intensive, and there was a lot of
pixel-level adjustment, especially around the edges.

But hey, like handcoding your pages - is there no shortcut to
originality and quality...
