you are in urgent need of an intervention or an exorcism.

If you are really intent on enabling this feature go all the way with third
party banner ads ,cross-browser scripting, and chromeless popup windows
requiring a reboot.

I will be the first person on the phone to my lawyers, your hosting company,
and the attorney generals of both our regions.
The last piece of email like that  i received, took 11 days to track down
the culprit and get his account closed.

The rules in the US are in a state of flux, but you will not get this past
the Safe Harbor rule in the EU.

No I don't think it's a good idea.

There are already a number of reasons posted why just HTML email without
"features" is not a good idea.

If your message is not compelling enough in plain text, a re-examination of
your message would be in order.
