I found the following information in a newsgroup. Thought it might be
relevant for discussion:

<post>
A new Privacy tab has been added to Internet Options to set the level of
privacy you want when browsing by specifying whether Web hosts can collect
client information through cookies. Internet Explorer 6 implements the P3P
version 1.0
compact policy specification to gather metadata about a web site's intended
use
of cookie information. Once the metadata is collected, IE will decide (based
on
your preferences as specified on the Privacy tab) whether to accept or
reject cookies on each web site you visit.

Third-party cookies will be disabled by default (Medium privacy level). If
web
sites offer third-party content, this may result in a failure of some of
their
services.

A new status icon ("the privacy icon") will be placed to the left of the
"lock
icon" in the status bar. This status icon will report to you the domain name
(example: www.msn.com) of a site which does not meet your privacy
preferences.

Note: The option to Import Custom Privacy Preferences is not implemented in
this Public Preview.

For additional information on P3P, please see the following web site:

I find it interesting that 3rd party cookies are disabled by default. Can
someone verify this? Doesn't seem like Doubleclick would be very happy.
